Application and Instructions

Before beginning the repair, verify that the damaged thread is M11 x 2.0. The universal kit uses an adjustable collar to suit different cylinder head bolt depths, so carefully follow the supplied instructions and mark the drill, tap and driver to the correct installation depth before machining. The kit is suitable for first-time repairs in both aluminium and cast iron engine blocks.

For LS engines using smaller M8 x 1.25 head bolts, the optional 1812CORE-PLATE should be used where required. If repairing a previously repaired hole where a Helicoil® or similar insert has failed, the TIME-SERT® 3700BS oversized repair kit is recommended.
