SAS Zinc Spray 500ml is a zinc-rich protective coating designed to provide outstanding corrosion protection to ferrous metal surfaces. Formulated with high-purity zinc, the dry coating contains over 60% zinc metal and provides excellent electrochemical corrosion protection. It dries to a smooth metallic grey matt finish and can be used as both a protective coating and a receptive primer for subsequent finishes. Supplied as a pack of 6 x 500ml aerosols.

Typical Applications

Ideal for protecting welds, steel fabrications, pipes, brackets, automotive components, galvanised surfaces and other prepared metallic parts. Particularly useful in bodyshops, fabrication workshops, engineering, maintenance and industrial applications where effective corrosion protection is required.

Ideal for Weld Protection & Fabrication

SAS Zinc Spray is particularly suitable for protecting welded and fabricated metal components. When applied as a thin coating it can be welded through, while the zinc-rich formulation helps restore corrosion protection to areas affected by fabrication and welding.

How to Use

Ensure the surface is clean and free from dust, grime, grease and oil before application. Remove corrosion, loose coatings and other contamination using a stiff brush or suitable wet and dry abrasive paper where required.

Shake the aerosol thoroughly for at least 2 minutes before use and continue shaking periodically during application. Apply sparingly and evenly from approximately 20–25cm away.

Apply approximately 2–3 coats, or as required to achieve complete and even coverage, allowing around 10–15 minutes between coats. The zinc primer may be sanded and subsequent topcoats can be applied from approximately 30 minutes after application, depending on coating thickness, number of coats and ambient temperature.

After use, invert the aerosol and spray briefly to help clear the nozzle and prevent blockage.

Technical Details

*Topcoat and drying times depend on film thickness, number of coats, ambient temperature and application conditions. Colder conditions and heavier coatings will increase drying time.
